In addition, the code automatically chooses a new "featured" member and their top products each time. Upcoming events are also listed along with the site's top product categories.

1 · PRODUCT LISTINGS

This is the heart of the marketplace. All products listed by all members are organized and presented to viewers on this page. Members list products directly from their browser. Editors organize categories from their browser.

Clicking any product thumbnail opens the product detail window with up to 5 photos, a pricelist, related articles and buying tips, member contact info, email inquiry form and even the option to include PayPal or other shopping cart buttons.

2 · MEMBER DIRECTORY & MAP

All members are listed here. Viewers can sort the list different ways...or use the search feature.

A member location map is automatically created showing the location each member has selected for themselves.

Editors can get a complete "print-ready" Member's Directory. It lists contact info and all products for all members. This html file has been specifically design so it can be easily opened and edited in Microsoft Word.

3 · MEMBER PAGES

Each member has their own page which they can edit directly from any browser. The member profile includes contact information, map location and up to 5 photos. The product list can be added to, edited and managed right from this page using simple web forms. Everything a member needs to do to participate in the marketplace can be done from this page.

4 · CALENDAR

Members can post events directly from their browser.

5 · ARTICLES

Members can post articles and how-to buying tips, with up to 5 pictures, directly from your browser. Organize them by date or category. Attach them to product categories. Send in email. Subscribe.

6 · NEWSLETTERS

Marketplace automatically creates a newsletter each month and emails to any subscibers. Newsletters present any new members, products and articles. "Featured" products and top categories are listed. Back-issues are available for review.

Readers subscribe and unsubscribe in a fully automated process.

Editors can direcly customize a newsletter before it is created.

7 · FAVORITE LINKS

Editors post favorite links from their browser. Links can be added to the navigation bar. Links with photo/logo can be placed on the home page and masthead.

8 · HELP TOPICS

Editors create custom help topics from their browser. They can organize into whatever categories they want. Help topics can be designated for members-eyes-only.

9 · SEARCH TOOLS

Viewers can search for products, members, articles or help topics which match words they choose.

10 · CUSTOM HTML PAGES

Editors can add links to any website pages located on their own server...or on any other server. These links can appear in the navigation bar, can be listed on the frontpage, and can appear in the masthead of everypage.

This ability allows Marketplace2006 to exist in concert with an existing site...and to be extended as desired.

EMAIL SUBSCRIPTIONS

Marketplace2006 supports email subscription options if the editor allows it. Readers can subscribe to a monthly newsletter. Readers can also subscribe to have all new articles emailed to them. A "special-offers and alerts" opt-in feature allows editors to send custom emails to these subscribers.
