Tideline has a number of subscription services built in. Enable the ones you want and disable the others.
NEWSLETTERSEach week a newsletter is automatically created that summarizes the new postings and events. Choose what it looks like and what gets included use the
Weekly Newsletters tool
EMAIL SUBSCRIPTIONSYou can allow readers to subscribe to the weekly newsletter and/or new articles as they are released. Subscribers get the items emailed to them. Tideline handles everything from signing up to sending the emails automatically. Use the
Email Subscriptions tool to enable and customize these features.
Important note: You must supply a "Reply E-Mail Address" in the Email Subscriptions dialog. This is the email address that all automatically emailed articles and newsletters will be sent from. Furthermore, many spam filters will flag an email as SPAM if the from email address doesn't have the same domain name as the links in it. To avoid having your Tideline generated emails marked as spam by some filters it helps to have the "Reply E-Mail Address" come from a valid email address at the same domain as the website. For example, if your Tideline website domain is www.foo.com your email address should be something "foo.com". Many Tideline editors create a special email address just for this purpose. RSS SUBSCRIPTIONSYou can have Tideline create RSS feeds for many parts of your website. Each night the RSS feeds are updated with the latest info. Use the
RSS Subscriptions tool to enable and manage this feature.
LETTING READERS KNOWReaders can subscribe to email and RSS using commands on the Help & Options menu. In addition you can use the
FRONTPAGE > Subscribe box editor tool to place subscription links on your frontpage.
