Whenever you sign in as editor, a big orange toolbar appears on the right side of the page. This has all the tools you need to organize and manage your Tideline site. This Editor Toolbar is broken into sections:

DAILY TOOLS
The essential tools you need day in and day out.
Editor's Desk with Stats is your complete overview of your site. This home page for editors shows everything from important notifications to visitors stats to detailed info on the inner workings of your site.
REVIEW (n) takes you to the "Review Board" where new postings await your approval or rejection. The number (n) in the command tells in at a glance how many items are waiting review.
MESSAGES (n) takes you to the "Editor Messages" inbox. Here you can read messages sent to you by readers or other staff. The number (n) in the command tells you how many messages are in your inbox.

DESIGN & LAYOUT
Tools to quickly change the overall look and feel.
Visual Designer is a one-stop dialog for changing the images that make up the background of your website. Use the built-in image or your own custom ones.
Masthead tools give you direct control over most aspects of your masthead area at the top of every page.
Menubar tool lets you customize the menus in the masthead to your heart's content.
Right Sidebar tool gives you control over what appears in the far right column on every page.
Skins tool lets you choose which skins (font/color sets) that are available to your readers...and which is the default.

FRONTPAGE
Tools to customize the unique parts of the Frontpage.
Editor's Note tool for editing this note.
Weather tool for controlling the weather tabs feature.
Search box tool allows you to show a quick search box for readers to search your site
Subscribe box tool lets you show and customize the quick links for your readers to subscribe to your content.
Add Custom Element tool allows editors to place custom html elements on the frontpage.
Tidepool Critters turns them on and off.
To control which postings appear on the frontpage and how they look, use the various
POSTINGS tools described below.

POSTINGS
Tools to choose which kinds of Postings you want on your site...and how they behave and are displayed.

PEOPLE
Tools to manage access and membership for your Tideline.
Security & Access tool lets you say what kinds of readers can view your site and which can post to it.
Staff & Members tool sets some basic parameters for your staff list and staff profiles pages.
View Staff List takes you to a list of your staff members. From there you can add, edit and remove your folks.
View Sponsor List takes you to the "Sponsors Page" where you can track and modify the sponsorship settings for your Biz & Group listings.

OTHER FEATURES
All the rest of the tools to control your Tideline website.
Special Sections tool gives you control over your custom sections page, as well as the list of sections on the frontpage.
Weekly Newsletters tool lets you set the options for when, what and how of this automatic feature.
Email Subscriptions tool gives you control over the automatic email subscriptions features.
RSS Subscriptions tool controls the automatic RSS feed feature of Tideline.
Search Engine options tool lets you choose features that attempt to hide or reveal your Tideline content to search engines.
Search Engine index takes you to the index page that search engines not using javascript see. Human readers don't see this.

SUPPORT
Quick links to this support website and how to get Tideline updates.
Update Service tool is your connection to automatic updates over the web of your Tideline code.
The Editor Tools appear just to the right of the main Tideline page. They are always there when you are signed in as an editor.
