Tideline can alert you to items that need your attention in several ways. Choose the ones that match your working style.

IN MASTHEAD
Bright orange numbers in the masthead tell you how many items are awaiting review...and how many messages are in your inbox. The first number is waiting review items...and the second number followed by the letter "m" is messages in your inbox. These numbers appear whenever you are signed in as editor. Click these numbers to go directly to the review board or message inbox.

To save you the bother of signing in just to see if something is waiting, Tideline can show these numbers even when not signed in.

To enable this feature:
1) Choose the Security & Access tool in the Editor Toolbar. A dialog will appear
2) Open the "EDITOR ALERTS" panel in this dialog.
3) Choose the setting you want for the Masthead.
4) Click "Update Options" button

IN EDITOR TOOLBAR
When signed in as editor, you will see the Editor Toolbar. The "DAILY TOOLS" area lists the number of items awaiting review and the number of messages. Click these number to go directly to the review board or mesage inbox.

IN EMAIL
If you don't check your Tideline often, you can have it send you an Editor Alert email each day in which something is awaiting your attention. Days with nothing waiting...no email is sent.

To enable this feature:
1) Choose the Security & Access tool in the Editor Toolbar. A dialog will appear
2) Open the "EDITOR ALERTS" panel in this dialog.
3) Enter your email address
4) Click "Update Options" button
